Alpacas offers a shearing service once a year to assist
owners of small numbers of alpacas at shearing time.

Animals
can be picked up and/or delivered to the property at shearing time.
Services available at shearing time also include vaccinations, nail
and/or teeth trimming and drenching. For further information regarding

Alpaca
shearing in Victoria Australia occurs once a year usually from October
to December. Alpacas are dropped to their side, tied and stretched
for safety of both, shearing team workers and animals.

Most
fleece is then sent to the Australian Alpaca Fleece Limitid
(AAFL) for processing.
Australian products range from socks, scarves, jumpers, blankets,
doonas and carpets.

Alpaca
fibre is a very durable light weight fibre with fantastic thermal
and fire retardant qualities. Alpaca fibre has a very low prickle
factor, enabling people with allergy to wool to wear alpaca close
to the skin with little or no irritation.
